PLAYER PROFILE: Billy Jacoby
Welcome to Player Profile! Each month we’ll feature a member of our all-star lineup with a Sports and Company Culture Q&A.
First up to bat is Billy Jacoby, one of the awesome engineers responsible for building our product. Billy was our first software engineer to join Frontrunner full-time in January of 2022. He’s an avid hiker, traveler, and weightlifter who enjoys constant learning. His focus at Frontrunner is building and improving the user-facing applications that people will be interacting with and he does it all while listening to Alternative Rock music.

What do you like most about the company culture at Frontrunner?
I love the culture of acceptance and the drive to always learn new things. Working alongside like-minded people while solving brand new problems every day is super encouraging and satisfying!
Tell us about your favorite sports memory?
When my wife and I took our nephews to their first MLB game. The Marlins were playing the Braves and they were losing until the very last inning when they tied the game and eventually won in extra innings.
What's your favorite Frontrunner memory?
Enjoying an amazing Yankees game with the whole team.
What’s your mantra?
If you can’t do anything to change something, then learn to accept that thing and make the best of it.
Who is your favorite athlete?
If you could go to a baseball game with any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Nikola Tesla - I’m sure he’d love baseball and there are a ton of questions I’d love to know about his life and work.

Motivated, curious, energetic
What’s your baseball walk-on song?
What is your all-time favorite sports movie?
If you could play any sport professionally what would it be and what position?
Football, middle linebacker. I played in high school and really enjoyed it.
What’s a condiment you can’t live without?
Sriracha or Truff’s Spicy Mayo!!
What is one food that you cannot resist?
DONUTS!!!!
What got you interested in working in Web3?
The ease with which you can build a full-fledged application that interacts with real blockchain data.
